I literally just came across ‘The Golden Age of Handbuilt Bicyles’ at the library yesterday. What a dope book!
Not only are the photos amazing, the bikes are incredible! So many great ideas and differing approaches to the same end goal. I think all the builders are French? Names such as Rene Hearse, Alex Singer and Berthoud pepper the book. I really want to see more, especially the Porteurs.
Any builder ever to think of entering a ‘Handbuilt’ show needs to have this book in their bathroom!
